Tattoos by Jay

I first picked up a machine in 2003, beginning my apprenticeship under the guidance of Terry Heck. That foundation sparked a lifelong obsession with the craft. I pride myself on being a versatile artist—if you have a vision, I can likely bring it to life in any style (though I’ll happily leave portraits to someone else). Lately, I’ve been diving deep into dark ornamental work, focusing on heavy contrast and intricate, flowing patterns.

My creativity doesn’t stop at the skin. When I’m not in the shop, I’m usually in the garage or the studio. I’m an avid motorcyclist and spend much of my time customizing bikes through painting, vinyl wrapping, and fabrication. I also enjoy the precision of knife making and the scale of mural and street art painting. On my quieter days, you’ll find me outdoors with a camera, pursuing nature photography.

Jay works at our Mechanicsburg shop from Wednesday to Sunday.
